Hello and welcome to Gunzel Family Farms LLC!
We’re proud to share our heritage through Ozark Heritage Sourdough and other handcrafted food items made with care in our family kitchen.
We believe food should be simple, honest, and safe — and that means being transparent about what we make, how it’s handled, and what you can expect.
Please take a few minutes to read through this notice. By purchasing or using any of our food products, you acknowledge and agree to the information below.
Our food products — including Ozark Heritage Sourdough Starter and any related dehydrated cultures, mixes, or recipe kits — are intended for personal, home-use baking only.
They are not ready-to-eat items and must be properly prepared before consumption.
All products are made using unbleached flour, wild yeast, and natural fermentation methods that require user participation and care.
Each item is prepared in a home kitchen that follows safe, sanitary handling procedures. However, our kitchen is not inspected by a public health agency.
Each package lists its ingredients clearly. Typical ingredients include:
Dehydrated Sourdough Culture (Wheat Flour, Wild Yeast, and Lactic Acid Bacteria).
Contains: Wheat.
While we take precautions to avoid cross-contact, our kitchen may process foods containing common allergens such as wheat, nuts, dairy, and eggs.
If you have severe allergies, please consider this before purchase.
Our dehydrated sourdough starter and related dry products are considered non-potentially hazardous foods and are shelf-stable at room temperature.
Once rehydrated, you are responsible for maintaining and handling your starter safely.
Please follow these simple guidelines:
Gunzel Family Farms LLC assumes no responsibility or liability for food that has been mishandled, contaminated, or improperly stored after delivery.
We do not claim or imply any medical, dietary, or nutritional benefits from our sourdough starter or related products.
Any references to wellness, tradition, or heritage are personal and cultural expressions, not medical statements.
If you have dietary restrictions or health concerns, consult a qualified healthcare professional before making or consuming fermented products.
Because our food products are living, perishable items, all sales are considered final once shipped.
We are happy to replace any product that arrives damaged, unusable, or incorrect, but we cannot accept returns for items that have been opened or used.
If your order arrives damaged or incomplete, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and we’ll make it right.
This product was produced in a home kitchen not subject to public health inspection that may also process common allergens.
By purchasing and using our food products, you agree that Gunzel Family Farms LLC, its owners, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any loss, injury, or illness resulting from improper handling, preparation, or consumption.
Your use of our products constitutes acceptance of this responsibility.
If you have any questions or concerns about this policy or the proper use of your starter, we’d love to hear from you.
